Aware Moto and sustainability goals

We're all responsible to make sure our actions are as responsible as possible. Aware Moto believes that we should always make an effort to improve the world with everything we do, and we've looked at the UN goals for sustainable development as a good place to get inspiration. We've identified four of the targets where we believe we can make a difference.

Target 3.6

By 2020, halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents.

Motorcycling is inherently more dangerous than most other forms of transport, and every time we go for a ride we accept a risk. However, we do our best to mitigate the risks by wearing our gear, keeping our bikes in the best possible shape, and by making the best decision we can while we're out there on the road. At Aware, we aim to help motorcycling be as safe as possible, and support sensible actions to reduce serious accidents.

Target 7.a

By 2030, enhance international cooperation to facilitate access to clean energy research and technology, including renewable energy, energy efficiency and advanced and cleaner fossil-fuel technology, and promote investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy technology.

We admit to having a sweet spot for internal combustion engines, and much of what we do is promoting the use of polluting vehicles. But this does not mean we neglect the dangers of global warming and local pollution. By making information about the engine's performance available to the rider, we hope that we can help making older motorcycles cleaner. And in any case, motorcycles are cleaner than cars!

Target 9.4

By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities.

This is obviously connected to the point above. Newer motorcycles, with all their focus on compliance with various emission requirements, use advanced technology to be as efficient as possible. Not only can we integrate with and improve that technology, but we can also upgrade older vehicles to improve them.

Target 12.5

By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.

We strongly believe in the right to repair, and do our best to reduce waste. Where possible, we use sustainable and recyclable materials, and we make sure our products can be resold or reused.
